Acid Corrosion Inhibitor
Uninhibited hydrochloric acid of varying strength will
corrode steel. The amount of acid-induced damage to
assets is a function of contact time, acid strength, and
temperature.
Acid corrosion inhibitors work
in two ways:
- the inhibitor diffuses from the bulk solution to the metal surface
- they adsorb or form a protective film on the metal surface
